Terms of Service

Who you're contracting with

Find North is provided by Bella Rose LLC (trading as Find North), at findnorth.us. When these terms say "we" or "us", that's who they mean. When they say "you", they mean the person using Find North.

By creating an account or continuing to use Find North, you agree to these terms. If you're using Find North on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it. If you're using it as an individual, you confirm you're at least 16 years old.

What Find North is

Find North is a private web platform that helps you organise your life emotionally and practically: journaling, reflection, rituals, insights, memory, letters, and optional shared circles with people you trust. Parts of it are generated by AI.

Find North is not therapy, medical care, crisis support, legal advice or financial advice, and North is not a clinician. See our AI Disclaimer for what that means in practice, and please contact your local emergency services if you are in danger.

Your account

• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your credentials confidential. You're responsible for activity under your account.
• Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.

What you may not do

• Use Find North for anything unlawful, or to harm, harass, threaten or deceive another person.
• Commit fraud, send spam, or misrepresent who you are.
• Infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy, including by uploading content you don't have the rights to.
• Interfere with the security or integrity of the service — no malware, probing, scanning, scraping, rate-limit evasion or unauthorised access attempts.
• Reverse engineer, resell, redistribute or sublicense the service, or circumvent its technical or membership limits.
• Use Find North to build a competing model or dataset.

Your content stays yours

Everything you write, upload and record in Find North belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process and display your content strictly to provide the service to you — including sending the necessary text to AI providers to generate a response, and showing an item to a circle when you have explicitly chosen to share it. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

You're responsible for the content you add, including having the rights to any photo, recording or writing you upload.

Our intellectual property

The Find North platform — its software, design, brand, name, and the way North is written — belongs to Bella Rose LLC. Your membership grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within the plan you've chosen. Nothing here transfers ownership of it to you.

Membership, payment and cancellation

Memberships are described on our Pricing page and governed by our Subscription Terms and Refund Policy, which form part of this agreement.

Payment, billing, tax, invoicing, cancellation and refund mechanics are handled by our Merchant of Record. Those mechanics are set out in Paddle's Buyer Terms at https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Service level

We work hard to keep Find North available and dependable, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate. Features may change, improve or be retired as the product grows.

Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Find North is provided as it is, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Find North is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill or emotional distress.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Your indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you added, from your unlawful use of the service, or from your breach of these terms.

Suspension and termination

• We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, a genuine security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious violations of our Community Guidelines.
• Where it's reasonable and safe to do so, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
• You can stop using Find North at any time, cancel your membership, and delete your account and your data from Settings.
• When access ends, your writing remains readable in read-only mode rather than being deleted — nothing is taken from you for not paying. If you delete your account, deletion is permanent.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we'll tell you inside the product before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Find North after that means you accept the updated terms.

General

• You may not assign this agreement without our consent. We may assign it as part of a merger, acquisition or reorganisation.
• Neither of us is responsible for failures caused by events genuinely beyond our reasonable control.
• If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we are established, and disputes will be heard by its courts, unless mandatory local consumer law gives you a different right.
